About Me
Gabriela Bettaglio, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Education & Training:
Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy- University of South Florida, COAMFTE Accredited
Advanced Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy through ICEEFT
Prepare/Enrich Certified Facilitator
I became a therapist out of a deep love for meaningful connection: the kind that comes from truly listening, supporting growth, and helping people feel seen and understood. While teaching high school, I found my greatest fulfillment in small groups and one-on-one conversations with students and parents. These moments of trust, collaboration, and presence showed me the power of slowing down and truly listening.
Around the same time, I was fortunate to discover a community of mindfulness meditation practitioners. Through this practice, I learned to meet my inner world with compassion and clarity, to quiet overwhelming thoughts, and to listen more deeply to myself and others. The practice of deep listening, in particular, shaped my path toward counseling, offering me a profound sense of connection and empathy that felt like “flow.”
I went on to complete my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of South Florida, choosing a program that focused on relationships rather than individuals in isolation. I believe our healing happens in the context of connection, not in a vacuum. During my training, I was introduced to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which became my professional home. Grounded in attachment science and supported by decades of research, EFT provides a powerful, compassionate framework for helping individuals, couples, and families repair disconnection and build stronger bonds. I also draw from my mindfulness background, both in how I show up with clients and in practices I share to bring greater relief and presence into daily life.
My work as a therapist humbles me every day. It inspires me to keep learning while also reminding me to care for myself so I can show up with the presence of heart and mind each client deserves. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of my favorite activities include reading in a cozy coffee shop, dancing salsa and bachata, hiking, and practicing pilates.
